The Kent Union Teaching Awards recognise and reward those academics who are committed to delivering excellent teaching for their students. This is the first fully student created and run teaching award scheme at the University of Kent.
Teaching Awards are an amazing way of celebrating good quality teaching and teachers at an institution but done properly they can be so much more.
Kent Union aims to demonstrate that students appreciate the value that good teaching adds to their learning. Through this scheme we can also identify the areas that the university needs to improve on regarding teaching, such as feedback on assessment, or feeling as though teaching comes second to research.
The Teaching Awards are aiming to show that there is respect for good teaching at the University of Kent and that rewarding good teaching will eventually improve the quality of teaching that you receive making your time at Kent more valuable and enjoyable.
